More and more, companies are asking for more education and higher degrees. Long gone times where you could hope to rely uniquely on experience and luck. And the competition is fierce. Many people now put their priority on education. However, it is not an option for everybody to be going to school full time during the day. The cost of living has gone up in the last few years and we need to pay the bills. This is why online degree programs are becoming more and more appealing to many people who can’t simply afford the dream of taking on full-time student “job” and postponing the reality of a real job.

Call your local college or university, talk to coworkers. The more questions you ask, the more likely you are going to find a good program or certification.

Choose the program or the certification you know will give you that promotion or job have been seeking for months, even years! Also, talk to your boss or human resources. Many companies encourage continuing education for their employees and see employees who are willing to take that extra step to educate themselves as very valuable. Plus, with an online degree program, they won’t feel threaten by the possibility of you quitting your job to go back to school full-time. Also, many companies are willing to pay a few classes/courses/certification as part of their employees normal training. Don’t be scared to ask, you have nothing to lose, everything to gain!
